The second quarter saw Mattie Shannon’s side stretch that lead further with Danny Russell’s placed balls and outstanding defensive displays from Ciaran Russell & Aaron Fitzgerald seeing them lead by 1-12 to 0-6 at HT.

In a game in which the champions never really got going, Eire Og continued to dominate. A goal from a Jamie Shanahan free did reduce the gap in the closing stages, but Shane O’Donnell capped a selfless performance as he rifled home late on to secure the 2-18 to 1-11 win.
