Almost 1,200 people in Clare are waiting for a driving test at three Clare centres, due to Covid-related backlogs.
According to Freedom of Information figures, 650 of those are on the list in Ennis, with a further 300 waiting for an appointment in Shannon and 243 in Kilrush.
They’re among nearly 58,000 people across the counrty who are waiting to take their test.

Brian Farrell, from the Road Safety Authority, says it will take several months to clear the backlog.
