Garda Appeal For Witnesses Following Spate Of Clare Burglaries

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses, following a spate of burglaries at homes across the county.

Eight houses were targetted by criminals in the early part of last week in the Lisdoonvarna, Shannon, Sixmilebridge and Doora areas.

Eight houses in all were targetted by criminals during separate incidents across Clare over the past week.

Two houses, which have been unoccupied for a number of years in Loughmaireada, Lisdoonvarna and on the Kilfenora Road out of Lisdoonvarna were broken into sometime between Friday, 15th October and Monday, 18th October.

Rear windows were forced open and entry gained but nothing was taken.

On Monday, in the Shannon area, a house in the Aidan Park Estate was broken into, with thieves making their getaway with a Louis Vuitton bag and wallet containing cash and a number of items of jewellery.

The following day two houses located in Feenagh, Sixmilebridge were broken into between 6.40am and 9.20pm and a quantity of ladies jewellery was stolen from one of the houses.

Later on Tuesday, between 11.45am . and 10.30pm, three houses – two located in Ballaghboy and one in Noughval – were broken into.

In all three rear windows were prised open. Jewellery was stolen in two of these burglaries and other items taken in the third.

Gardaí are urging anyone with information on these incidents to contact Ennis Garda Station on 065 68 48 100 or any Garda Station.
