Clare has recorded a marginal increase in the number of new car registrations so far this year.
Figures from the Society of Irish Motor Industry show that until the end of October, 2,070 new cars were purchased in this county, compared to 1,958 registrations for the entirety of 2020.
Clare makes up approximately 2 per of the overall registrations nationally – down 0.5% on last year.

The sale of new cars is still 11 percent lower than it was before the pandemic, but there has been a 115 percent increase in the sale of electric cars – accounting for over 8,000 new sales.
