The end is finally in sight to long-running water issues in South-East Clare.
Minister for Housing Darragh O’Brien and Irish Water have confirmed that works will be undertaken to replace 900 metres of asbestos water pipe mains from Athlunkard Bridge to Larkin’s Cross, beginning in early 2022.
This will benefit approximately 6,000 people in the Westbury, Shannon Banks, Ardnacrusha and Parteen areas where 15 outages were recorded in 2020 alone.
