Clare VFI Chair Says Business In Pubs Will ‘Fall Off A Cliff’ If Further Restrictions Are Implemented

The Chair of Clare VFI says business in pubs and the hospitality sector will ‘fall off a cliff’ if further restrictions on the industry are implemented by Government.

The Cabinet sub-committee on Covid is meeting this lunchtime to consider the latest NPHET advice with a full Cabinet meeting to follow this afternoon.

More restrictions on the hospitality sector including earlier closing hours and limits on the number of people at a table have been put forward.

Speaking with Clare FM’s Josh Prenderville, Clare VFI Chair and Ennis publican Charlie O’ Meara says the possibility of fewer people on the premises would be devastating in the run up to Christmas period.
