Collaborative works between Whitegate residents and Clare County Council to conserve the national monument in Clonrush have been completed.
There had been concerns that the structure, dating back to the 12th century, was at risk of collapse after it had deteriorated in recent years.
The restorative works have been completed under the Community Monuments Fund, with the main focus of the project on the ruins of the stone church in Clonrush.

Whitegate-based Fine Gael Councillor Pat Burke says local residents are extremely proud of the development.
