A peace vigil today to highlight the alleged use of Shannon Airport for US "rendition flights" is taking place in Shannon today.
It comes a day after Amnesty International launched a new report claiming the Irish Government does not know what is passing through the Mid West Airport on secret CIA flights..
The authorities here have constantly denied that Shannon is used as a launch pad for rendition.

Today Amnesty will be joined other other peace activists in a vigil to the airport where they will be demanding an end to Ireland allegeds particiaption in the practice
Spokesperson for Amnesty International Ireland Colm O Gorman believes if the government were doing their job properly then there wouold be no need for a vigil to take place:
