Former Taoiseach Bertie Ahern is to open this year’s National Tourism Conference in Ennistymon.
Now in it’s 21st year, the annual event takes place from November 26th to 28th in the Falls Hotel and will focus on ‘Promoting Partnership In Tourism: 21 Years Of Progress’.
Bertie Ahern tops the guest list this year along with the EU’s Head of Transport and Tourism Brian Simpson, MEP, and other tourism interests from Failte Ireland and organisations in Northern Ireland and the USA.
Similar events have been in doubt this year due to the recession but Chairman of the Clare Tourist Council’s Organising Committee Flan Garvey says the need for a serious discussion on the industry is more important than ever this year
