Clare’s Chief Superintendent set to retire

Less than six months in the job and Clare’s head of policing has announced she’s retiring.

Chief Superintendent Mary Fitzgerald arrived in the county in July and was the third person to fill the role since Liam Quinn retired in December 2006.

He was replaced by Gerry Mahon, who then moved to Limerick and then the former head of the Garda Press office Kevin Donoghue held the post until June of this year.
