Pop up loo mooted as solution to public urination

A rising public urinal device is the latest suggestion to combat the problem of peeing on the streets in Ennis!

Councillor Johnny Flynn is asking the Town Council to consider the "urie-lift" which would rise from the ground to facilitate night time revellers who get short taken while socialising, and keep the streets clean.

The proposal followed a negative response to the idea of urine wardens, after the Ennis Town Manager said it was a matter for Gardaí and the town Clerk questioned how the wardens would catch offenders in the act.

Labour Councillor Paul O’Shea says he’ll pursue the idea with Gardaí though, and rejected claims that peeing in public has been blown out of all proportion
