Mid West Nurses on work to rule action

Nurses at the Mid Western Regional Hospital in Limerick commenced  industrial action this morning  in the ongoing row regarding overcrowding problems.

Nurses says they’re under increased pressure for months now, since full time A and E services ended in Ennis and Nenagh, and the situation reached new levels yesterday as the Irish Nurses Organisation reported over 40 patients waiting on trollies in Dooradoyle.

They’re angry that extra beds were placed in wards, despite agreement that the HSE is against the practice and a work to rule including non attendance at meetings, non-co-operation with discharge forms and withdrawal from audits will now take immediate effect.
