Fresh Garda Appeal over Brian Casey Death

Gardaí  have issued a fresh appeal for witnesses to come forward over the death of Brian Casey in Ennis.

The 26 year old died after sustaining head injuries in an incident on Saint Stephen’s night last in Clare’s County Town.

As part of their ongoing investigation, Gardaí have viewed CCTV footage from the night in question and are particularly anxious to speak to four men in their 30’s seen walking from Parnell Street, onto O Connell Square and then onto Abbey Street, before midnight on the 26th of December.

They are also eager to speak to anyone who may have used one of the ATMS in the locality – from the Ulster Bank machine, up to the Bank of Ireland ATMs or the AIB cash machine, again before midnight.

Gardai says if anyone noticed anything at the time they would like to hear from them in confidence on 065 6848100.

A file on the case is being prepared for the DPP. Two men are also charged in connection with Brian Casey’s death.

29 year old Harry Dinan with an address of 10 Waterpark Heights in Ennis and 22 year old Kevin Dinan of 3 Clarehill, Clarecastle are both charged with assault causing harm to the 26 year old Lissycasey native.
