It’s believed dozens of new jobs will be created with the expansion of Pre Clearance Facilities at Shannon Airport to include private planes bound for the US
The Transport Minister Noel Dempsey says following talks with Homeland Security the way is now cleared for the introduction of the service through the Mid West Airport in the coming weeks.
Up until now the facility was only available for commercial aircraft such as British Airways and Continental but this expansion will allow greater flexibility for the growing number of small US corporate jets now flying back and forth
Clare Fianna Fail TD Timmy Dooley says it will also have huge economic benefits for the Mid West Region including securing current jobs and creating new employment positions over the coming months.
