It’s hoped that commuter rat runs in the South East Clare area could become a thing of the past with the new Northern Distributor road near Limerick.
The Government has confirmed 500 thousand euro to fund the planning process for the route which is due to link the Coonagh roundabout to Meelick, in a bid to alleviate commuter congestion on local roads.
Killaloe Councillor Cathal Crowe says further funds will be needed to construct the route, but it’s a step in the right direction
