Clare is one of the safest counties in which to drive according to new figures released by the Road Safety Authority and also boasts one of the best driver test pass rates.
There is on average just 1.7 crashes per 1,000 head of population which compares favourably with other counties in Ireland with Carlow and South Tipperray the safest areas in Ireland in which to drive while Louth has the most road collisions with 2.4 accicdents per 1,000 population.
Clare’s three driving test centres have each a pass rate of over 50% with Ennis coming out well above natioanl average at 63.4 %, Kilrush’s rate is 56.9 % and Shannon coming in third with a rate of 50.5 %
