Earth moves for North Clare Residents

Residents in North Clare who felt the earth move last night are being urged to share their experiences with earthquake experts.

The tremor which measured 2.7 struck the north of the county shortly before half eleven with people in Lahinch, Liscannor, Lisdoonvarna and Doolin reporting a loud bang as many houses shook.

It’s the first reported earthquake in County Clare and was picked up at seismic stations in Kerry and Dublin.

Research scientist Tom Blake from the Dublin Institute of Advanced Studies says they require the help of locals to assess the extent of the tremor.
