Councillors give Cliffs new pricing structure a guarded welcome

North Clare representatives are keeping an open mind on a new pricing structure at the Cliffs of Moher which will see adults pay six euro each per visit regardless of what facilities they’re using.

Management at the Cliffs says the new charges are family friendly as children will go free and everyone can now enjoy the indoor exhibitions, despite concerns that a car full of adult visitors will now cost up to 30 euro instead of the previous eight euro parking charge.

The charges will be in place by the end of July, and though there are plans for reduced season tickets and local resident discounts, these won’t be introduced until 2011.

Ennistymon Councillor Martin Conway hopes the charges will work well, but says he’ll be raising public concerns if they arise
