Facebook Asked To Remove Cliffs Pictures

The social networking website Facebook has been asked to remove pictures of dangerous activity at the Cliffs of Moher, amid fears they could encourage similar behaviour by it’s visitors.

A page on the site which has been set up for ‘fans’ of the Cliffs has been criticised for displaying images of people hanging over their edge, while other photos show people walking or even cycling along a narrow ledge.

Director of the Cliffs, Katherine Webster, has contacted the site to get the pictures removed, fearing that the page in question could be mistaken to have official supoprt.

Her calls to get the pictures removed have been backed up by local Councillor Martin Conway.
