One of "County Clare’s finest music ambassadors" and "a true icon of Ireland’s Ballad Tradition" was honoured in Ennis last night.
Spancilhill Singer Robbie McMahon was awarded a civic reception by Clare County Council, and received a standing ovation for his world famous rendition of "the Fair of Spancillhill" and the self composed "Fleadh Down in Ennis", as he was joined by friends and family for the event.
