A west Clare teenager will be honoured in Dublin today for his life saving efforts in Kilkee last year.
18 year old Hugh Byrne was swimming with friends when he noticed a young woman in difficulty in the water.

He managed to bring her to some nearby rocks but they were both then swept into the water, however they were picked up a short time later by the rescue services.
Hugh is to be honoured by Irish Water Safety in a ceremony in Dublin this afternoon.
The 18 year old says he’s honoured to be nominated for such an award
