The big freeze is tightening its grip over the country this morning as snow is set spread across the country today.
Freezing temperatures and ongoing snowfall mean driving conditions across much of the country remain treacherous- however Clare has so far escaped the worst of the snow conditions.

While ground temperatures are well below freezing across the county, gardaí say most main routes are clear-
However there are a number of icy stretches particularly on
O’Briensbridge to Killaloe road, Quilty to Kilrush and around the Shannon Free Zone – and gardai are warning drivers to proceed with extra caution.
There’s no rail, bus or flight disruptions here but its a different story in other parts of the country.
