Gardai across the county are warning drivers to proceed with extreme caution and to only make journeys if necessary after a very sharp overnight frost has left many roads in a trecherous condition.
Gardai in Ennis have reopned the main ennis kilrush road at edenvale follwing an earlier accicdent this morning involving six cars.
Gardai are also warning motorists of an incident on the N68 ennis kilrush road at the cragg while there have been an number of accicdents on the Ennis Gort bypass and the road is described by gardai as very icy and slippy and extreme caution is advised.
Roads in and around ennistymon are said to be very slippy as well as themain ennis ennistymon road.
Gardai in Killaloe are warning drivers to take extreme caution in the Birdhill,killaloe town areas, as well as Scariff,Ballina,O Brien’s bridge and Clonlara.
The main road into Kilrush is passable but several secondary and untreated roads in West Clare are decribed by gardai as dangerous.
Gardai in Shannon are also warning drivers to take care on the main N18 both directions after a number of minor accicdents this morning.
