Strict conditions and opening times are to be applied to a controversial new Youth Cafe and Resource Facility in Ennis before the lease is signed by the local town council.
The new Community and Resource Building at Cloughliegh Ennis is to be leased to the Clare Youth Service for a period of 10 years at a nominal fee of 10 euro per year in the interests of enhancing social development for the youth of the town.
The building prompted much concern for residents in the area due to its proximity to the homes of elderly people and assurances were sought reagrding the opening times of the facility at a number of heated meetings last year.
Ennis Town Council has now been told that lease conditions including opening times will be brought before councillors prior to signing and Mayor of Ennis, Tommy Brennan is hoping the fears of local residents will be allayed.
