1st Anniversary of Phoebe Prince Death

It’s feared charges relating to the death of Fanore teenager Phoebe Prince could be dropped by the new District Attorney in Western Massachusetts.

Today marks the first anniversary of the death of 15 year old Phoebe who took her own life following what was described as a relentless campaign of bullying against her at South Hadley High School where her family had moved to from North Clare in 2009.

Students at the school are expected to wear white today in memory of Phoebe Prince who’s death shocked communities in Clare and Massachusetts and lead to new laws there to clampdown on school bullying.

Six teenagers are awaiting trial relating to her death on charges including stalking, violation of civil rights and statutory rape but the newly appointed District Attorney David Sullivan has said he’ll review the case and hasn’t said whether they’ll go to trial.

Kevin Cullen who is a columnist with The Boston Globe says there is the possibility the charges will be dropped and there is also the possibility that some of the defendants may plead guilty to some of the charges.
