It’s hoped the Clare Inn which is part of the Lynch Hotel Group will emerge successfully from receivership thus securing the future for dozens of employees.
The receiver from Grant Thornton has been appointed to the Dromoland based hotel along with Breaffa House Resort in Mayo which employ around 150 staff between them.
In a statement to Clare FM, managing director of the Clare based hotel chain said they took the action because of difficulties in securing working capital after Bank of Scotland Ireland’s withdrawal from the market.
He added that the poor weather coming up to Christmas which lead to large numbers of cancellations was also a significant blow for the hotel chain but the group has secured a position where both The Clare Inn and Breaffy House Resort will remain open and continue to trade’.
