Martin Criticises Fine Gael’s Ennis General Plans

The Fianna Fail leader has refused to be drawn on the widespread criticism from medical staff across the MidWest over the reconfiguration of services from Ennis and Nenagh to Limerick Regional.

Speaking on Clare Fm’s Morning Focus Micheál Martin defended the party’s health policy over the past number of years and stated that far more patients are have received better treatment in hospitals with advances in many areas.

Fine Gael and Labour have both stated that they would stall reconfiguration due to the pressure it has created at Dooradoyle with a major increase in A&E waiting times and the knock on effects it’s having on Ennis General and Nenagh.
