It’s exactly a week since Japan was hit by an earthquake and tsunami.

Japanese engineers have conceded that burying the crippled Fukushima nuclear plant in sand and concrete may be the only way to prevent a catastrophic radiation release.
Officials are still trying to fix a power cable to at least two reactors to restart water pumps needed to cool overheating nuclear fuel rods.
Workers have also sprayed water on the Number 3 reactor, one of the most critical of the plant’s six.
Meanwhile, the confirmed number of dead now stands at 6-and-a-half-thousand – with 10-thousand people still missing.
