A County Clare school teacher is due to be sentenced today for committing sexual offences against a teenage girl at a local school.
The 60 year old man, who cannot be named for legal reasons, pleaded guilty to 14 sexual offences at Ennis Circuit Court earlier this year
Out of 14 charges facing the Clare school teacher – most of the offences took place at a County Clare school over a 14 week period in September and October of 2009 when the teenage girl was 15 years old and in November of that year when she turned 16.
The 60 year old man entered a Guilty plea before Ennis Circuit Court in January and is due back before the circuit court today where his case is listed for sentencing.
The accused has been on bail since he was first charged last June – restrictions regarding his identity were imposed to protect the identity of the teenage complainant in this case and the County Clare school concerned.
