The Ballyea man who won over 600,000 euro in the Irish Open Poker Championship is now planning to play cards in Las Vegas but only if it fits in with work at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Ennis!

Celebrations are continuing in Ballyea after 26 year old Niall Smyth became the Paddy Power Irish Open Champion, scooping a jackpot worth a total of 650,000 euro following four days of poker in Dublin.

Niall works as an attendant at St. Joseph’s hospital in Ennis but says he plans to continue working there, while also taking in some major poker tournaments across the world.
