There are calls for immediate safety work to be carried out on a North Clare road following a recent crash in which a car careered down an embankment into water below.
The single car collision happened near Kilnamona on the Ennis to Ennistymon road last Thursday in which woman in her 60s lost control of her car, which crashed down 10ft embankment and overturned on to its roof.

The vehicle then started to take in water but a passing bus driver managed to free her from the car.
Local Independent Councillor James Breen says it’s the latest in a series of accidents on that stretch of road and that the authorities must act now before there’s a fatality
