Extradition proceedings against 55 year old Eid began in March as he came to the end of his six year sentence at Limerick Prison for his role in the "Lying Eyes" Sharon Collins Case.

The Las Vegas Poker dealer was convicted of extortion after he demanded 100 thousand euro from Ennis businessman Robert Howard to cancel a contract on his life and that of his brother and father.

Shortly before his release- he was arrested and brought before the High Court which heard the 55 year old is wanted by the State of California on charges of conspiracy, extortion and threatening to kill a man over 20 thousand euro during a phone call from Las Vegas to L.A

A date of May 4th was set for the extradition hearing,  which was expected to be lengthy, however late last month the court was told the Egyptian had agreed to his surrender to US Authorities.

Paperwork surrounding the extradition was completed in recent days and Clare FM understands that Mr Eid was returned to the US over the weekend.

Meanwhile, Ennis woman Sharon Collins who was also jailed for six years  for soliciting Eid to kill her partner PJ Howard and his two sons is still awaiting the outcome of an appeal against her conviction.
