A County Clare man on trial over the rape of a woman in Derry has been found not guilty by direction of the judge
The 35 year old originally from Ennis denied a total of seven charges, including several of rape and one of false imprisonment at his then home at Ardanlee Crescent, in the Culmore area on September 9 2008.
At Derry Crown Court the judge directed the jury to acquit the defendant of all charges after the prosecution said it was offering no further evidence.
