The President of the United States – Barack Obama – arrives in Ireland this morning for a 24 hour visit.
Air Force One will touch down at 9.30 this morning and the US President will go first to Áras an Uachtaráin and plant a tree with President McAleese, before meeting An Taoiseach and the Cabinet in Farmleigh Estate.

Barrack Obama will then pay a flying visit to his ancestral home in Moneygall before addressing thousands of people at a free open air event in College Green in Dublin tonight.
American Ambassador to Ireland Dan Rooney says Barack Obama’s looking forward to it.
