Tributes are being paid to the former editor of the Clare Champion – Frank O’Dea who has died following an illness.

A native of Kilcolgan, Co. Galway, Mr. O’Dea lived in Ennis for many years and was Editor of the Clare Champion from 1959 until his retirement in 1996.
He was also one of the founding directors of Clare FM Radio and is survived by his wife Sally, sons, daughters and grandchildren and will be laid to rest in Ennis in Thursday.
Paying tribute to his journalistic skills, current editor of the Clare Champion Austin Hobbs said Frank O’Dea reported on all the major issues affecting Clare for over four decades.
