The Environment Minister insists a flat-rate charge for households WILL be brought in from the start of next year.
Phil Hogan’s comments follow assertions from both the Taoiseach and Tanaiste that no final decision has been made on the matter.
Fianna Fail has branded the handling of the issue as having caused ‘utter confusion’ but a spokesperson for Minister Hogan says the position is clear – and the fee will come into force on the first of January 2012.
