Man shot dead in Dublin

 

 

A murder investigation is underway after a man was shot dead in Clondalkin, West Dublin.

The 53 year old was shot at the front door of his house on Shancastle Avenue in the early hours.

It’s believed the gunmen fire shots through a broken panel on the front door of the victims house at Shancastle Avenue in Clondalkin at around five past four this morning.

The victim, a 53 year old man was in the hallway and seriously injured – he was rushed to James Connolly hospital in Blanchardstown where he was pronounced dead.

A number of family members were in the house at the time of the incident – but no one else was injured.

The gunmen fled the scene – and shortly afterwards, a car was found burnt out in nearby Chapelizod.

Gardaí  have launched a murder investigation and are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
