Further violence is expected on the streets of Athens today, as the Greek Parliament votes on the second and final stage of a new 28 billion euro austerity package.
Last night politicians in Greece passed the first stage of austerity measures, aimed at clearing the way for the country – to receive a second bailout from the EU and the IMF.
The vote was greeted with considerable relief in Brussels, as it had been feared that if these austerity measures were NOT voted through – the country would default and leave the eurozone.
