Gardaí are continuing to question a man and a woman over a so-called tiger kidnapping in Newcastle West last week.
It’s believed up to a 100-thousand euro was handed over after a member of staff at the local post office was threatened and locked in the boot of his car for almost eight hours.

The man and woman – aged 27 and 25 – were detained during a pre-planned operation near Gort in County Galway yesterday morning.
They’re being held at Henry Street and Roxboro Road Garda Stations under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act and Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act.
