A County Clare school teacher is due to be sentenced today for committing sexual offences against a teenage girl at a local school.

The 60 year old man, who cannot be named for legal reasons, pleaded guilty to 14 sexual offences at Ennis Circuit Court earlier this year
Out of 14 charges facing the Clare school teacher – most of the offences took place at a County Clare school over a 14 week period in September and October of 2009 when the teenage girl was 15 years old and in November of that year when she turned 16.
In March, Ennis Circuit Court was told that the case was a sensitive matter with lengthy evidence to be heard at the sentence hearing and Judge Carroll Moran directed the matter be heard today.
