The Air Accident Investigation Unit will lead an inquiry into a serious incident at Shannon Airport yesterday in which a plane skidded off the runway
The air transport investigative body along with The Irish Aviation Authority and Gardaí will attempt to piece together the events that led to the aircraft veering onto the grass median, on its second attempted landing.
All 25 passengers and crew on board the Aer Arann Regional flight from Manchester to Shannon escaped unharmed.
