Shannon councillors are hopeful that proposals for an 85 million euro power plant development which could create hundreds of new jobs will get the green light.
Carbon Sole Group- the company behind the project have briefed the local authority members on the plan to construct a combined heat and power plant in the Shannon area – which would produce green energy.

Councillors were told similar systems in Sweden resulted in a 48% reduction in carbon emissions while the development of the plant could also lead to further spin off companies setting up along side the plant.
Shannon County Councillor Sean McLoughlin says the benefits for the area would be twofold if its getting planning permission to proceed with the project
