Death toll rises in Norway

The number of people killed in yesterday’s attacks in Norway has risen to 98.

The violence has been described as the worst the country has suffered since the Second World War.

Seven died when a car bomb exploded near government buildings in Oslo city centre.

Hours later, more than 80 people – mainly teenagers  – were shot dead when a lone gunman disguised as a police officer opened fire at a Labour Party Youth Rally on Utoya Island.

Two men are now being questioned in relation to the attacks.

A 32 year old Norwegian man was the first person to be arrested.
