Campaign against Septic Tank Legislation

Moves to try and fight planned legislation that could cause serious financial hardship for Clare householders with septic tank systems, get underway tonight.

Up to half a million rural dwellers nationwide could be affected if the government decides to introduce mandatory inspections for the private sewage treatment systems.

It’s reported that registration fees of up to 300 euro for each household could be imposed when the legislation is put forward this autumn.
