The head of Shannon development is expressing his confidence that the Burren region is set for a significant tourism boost in the near future.
Already, sites across North Clare have been assessed by evaluators from The European Geoparks Networks, who have been asked to designate the region as a UNESCO GeoPark.
This will provide the Burren with an indentity as a region for sustainable ecotourism, and in turn attract more tourists.
