New figures from property website Daft.ie reveal that the rents here fell by 4.4 percent from April to June of this year, compared to the same quarter in 2010.

The average cost of a rental property now stands at 589 euro – this compares to 690 in Limerick – which saw a slight dip in prices, while Galway rents are up slightly to 755 euro.
Meanwhile looking at accommodation costs for students entering college in the Mid West – and prices on the suburbs of Limerick City – in areas like Parteen and Westbury have also risen.
