Ennis has climbed six places in the latest litter league table and is clean to European Norms.
The survey carried out by Irish Business Against Litter has placed Clare’s County Town in joint 15th position with Bray – up from 21st place last year.
Seven out of the ten sites surveyed in Ennis got the top marks including The Remembrance Garden and Cusack Lawn (Residential) which were both found to be particularly well presented and maintained.
Three of the four approach roads also ranked highly as did Ennis Regional Hospital, considering the ongoing construction work however there were some moderately littered sites including the R458 Junction at Barefield Roundabout to the next Roundabout and Ennis Leisure Centre.
Killarney received top marks in the IBAL survey while Dublin was branded a litter black spot.
