North Clare commuters are being warned that sections of the N85 and N67 are set to be closed next month due to extensive upgrading roadworks.
The closures will commence from the Clare/Galway border just past Kinvara to Bellharbour on Monday the 5th of September and different parts along the route will be closed on a weekly basis until the end of the month to allow for resurfacing.
The areas affected include Ballyvaughan to Bishops Quarter, Lisdoonvarna from its junction with the Coast Road to its junction with Benns Cross on the Doolin Road – while there will also be a road closure from Maurices Mills to Ennistymon on the N85.
North Clare Council Joe Arkins accepts there will be disruption for motorists but that the road upgrade is necessary and long overdue
