An Ennis man has been sent forward for trial charged with the murder of Eoin Ryan.

Joe Heffernan has been on remand at the central mental hospital in Dublin since being charged with the murder of Eoin Ryan of Barefield in June and made his third apperance in court yesterday in relation to the charge.
Garda John Casey yesterday served a two volume book of evidence in the case and Inspector Michael Gallagher told the court that the DPP had consented the case be sent forward to the next sitting of the central criminal court.
Judge Joseph Mangan granted legal aid for the accused after an appeal by his solicitor that the case warranted a senior and junior counsel.
The defendent’s solicitor also told the court that Joe Heffernan could be remanded in custody to the central Mental hospital on consent with Judge Mangan remanding the accused in custody to appear before the next sitting of the central criminal court
