Plans for another retail development in Miltown Malbay has been rejected.
Earlier this year – An Bord Plenala granted permission for a shopping complex at Legard South by local businessman John Jones.
Two rival retailers had then submitted their own applications for another such development on the main street in Miltown but have now been refused by An Bord Pleanala.

In its ruling it pointed out that the earlier application by Mr Jones has provided Miltown with adequate retail space and that to give the go ahead for a second complex would be contrary to the sustainable development of the area".
